Hi All !
I just worked on one of my old models created a few years back. Did some minor updates and rendered this piece of art ! So far this has been my best art work in my opinion. It could've turned out better if only I had a more powerfull computer and more time. So I had to make sacrifices in the end because time wasn't really on my side.
For this project I used Softimage, Maya, Mudbox, Vue xStream, and Photoshop.
Softimage - Modeling, Unwrapping with the new Unfold feature, Lighting, Rendering and Compositing with the FX Tree.
Maya - Paint FX used to create grass then exported to SI
Vue xStream - Created the moon and the night sky.
Mudbox - Used for texturing and painting the vein effects. I don't know why, but I wasn't happy with the results when I exported a Normal Map. I literally converted the Normal maps into a Bump map in PS to achieve the vein effects on his body. The reason I wasn't happy is I noticed the lighting would look wierd and doesn't have it's natural effect with a Normal map. Even though I've added tangents and color vertex to my model, something still looked wrong.
If anybody has a clue of what I'm talking about, please be kind enough to provide me with the solution for future projects. I would really appreciate it.
